GLEN â€“ For the third time in four games, the East Webster defense has shut out an opponent, cruising past Alcorn Central 32-0 on the road Friday night.
The Wolverines (6-0) held the Golden Bears (0-6) to just 147 total offensive yards.
Meanwhile, the East Webster offense tallied 383 yards on offense, 349 of which came on the ground.
Both Ledrick Patterson and Demetrius O'Briant paced the Wolverines attack, each cracking the century mark in their respective ground games.
O'Briant finished with 149 yards on six carries and one touchdown, while Patterson cranked out exactly 100 yards on seven carries while finding the end zone twice.
Timakis Bell pounded out 55 rushing yards on 12 attempts.
The Wolverines jumped out to a 7-0 lead just 20 seconds into the game on a 65-yard run from O'Briant.
The score held until early in the second quarter when Patterson hit Miguel Graham for a 27-yard touchdown pass to make it 13-0.
Patterson found the end zone again, this time on the ground, late in the second period to make it 19-0 East Webster at the break.
The Wolverines added their final points in the third quarter on a 55-yard run from Patterson, and a 25-yard blocked punt return from Terry Shaw.
The contest was East Webster's final game before beginning Class 2A, Region 2 play next week at home against cross-county rival Eupora, who will come into next Friday's game on the heels of a bye week.
Kickoff for next week's division-opener is set for 7 p.m.
