WEIR – Weir faithful got a first-hand look at the Chris Hunter show as East Oktibbeha won its third straight game of the season on the road.
Hunter, the Titans senior quarterback, once again did his damage on the ground and through the air Friday night totaling 355 total yards (189 rushing, 146 passing) and five touchdowns in East Oktibbeha's 38-28 victory at Weir.
After taking a 22-20 lead into the locker room, the Titans (3-6, 3-4 in Region play) scored quickly in the third quarter to ensure a road victory.
Hunter hit junior receiver Kortland Petty for two of his aerial touchdown strikes as the 5-foot-10 target finished the night with a team-high 111 yards receiving.
Coming into the contest, Weir (4-3, 4-2) had won four of its first five region games but have now lost two in a row.
The Titans also got 67 yards rushing from senior running back Lexi Edwards to assist Hunter in the offensive attack.
With the win, East Oktibbeha heads into its bye week with playoff hopes still alive as they end the final two games of the 2010 regular season against Nanih Waiya and Ethel.
