City opens Moncrief Park pool for summer

Hot summer days are finally here and the city of Starkville is offering the community a way to stay cool amid the humidity.

The Moncrief Park Pool opened on Monday and Tuesday, and will be closed Wednesday and Thursday for maintenance before re-opening Friday with updated summer hours.

The pool will be open Monday through Friday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. for open swim, then 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for family swim.

Saturday hours for open swim will be from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for family swim.

Sunday will see the pool open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for open swim,

Admission rates are $3 Monday though Thursday and $5 Friday though Saturday. Kids 5-years-old and under get in free. All children 9 and under must be accompanied by someone 18 or older.

Summer passes are also available, ranging from $35 for individual and $80 for a family summer pass, which covers up to eight family members.
