Charles Wayne Reed

Charles Wayne Reed, 71, passed away on Sept. 9, 2010 at his daughter’s residence in Starkville.
He was a retired Assistant Chief Financial and Budget Officer at Mississippi State University for 32 years and an Army veteran. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection and a graduate of Mississippi State University and a Past President of the Mississippi Association of Governmental Purchasing Agents.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Reed Kouns (Will) of Starkville; sons, Charles W. (Butch) Reed, Jr. (Margaret) of Columbus, MS and Mike Reed of Starkville; former wife, Nancy Morgan Reed of Amory; and grandchildren, Tyler Reed, Betsy Reed, Reed Green and Cameron Kouns. Visitation for Mr. Reed is scheduled for today from 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 11, at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Starkville. Father Lee Winter will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Reed, Danny Smith, Phil Smith, Tommy Reed, Wayne Reed and David Kleban.
Honorary pallbearers are Bob Peaks, Dr. Robert Collins and Chris Nettles.

You can also make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society or the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Starkville.
