547 Barnard and RTR Media are in search of homeowners to participate in a pilot episode for a new HGTV home renovation show set in Starkville.

“The casting call is going on right now for homeowners in Starkville wanting to participate in home renovation and take part in the pilot show,” Amanda Shafer, who will host the pilot, said. 547 Barnard and RTR Media are looking for homeowners with a home in need of renovations in three to four main rooms in their home, such as their kitchen, living room, main floor space or master bedroom.

Homeowners must have access to a renovation budget that covers the cost of the needed home renovations.

Amanda and her brother Austin Shafer were approached by HGTV to host the new show after learning about their businesses.

Amanda owns Jamison Fry Interiors, located at 510 University Dr., which sells vintage dishes and homewares and offers full interior design services.

Austin owns Fry Retool Company, which restores and resales vintage tools.

“The show is still in early production stages, but we hope to use other local builders and craftsmen in the show,” Amanda said.

The company is looking to do the home renovation in the next four months, Amanda said, but it could be sooner if the right home for the show is found. 547 Barnard and RTR Media have produced other HGTV shows including “Income Property,” “Home Town,” and “Flip or Flop: Fort Worth.”

Amanda said the name of the new show has not been released yet.
