Starkville High School boys basketball coach Greg Carter was recovering in a Columbus hospital on Saturday after having heart attack and surgery to correct the problem.
According to Schreese Carter, Greg Carter's wife, his heart attack was caused by 100 percent blockage in his arteries. He was admitted to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus where the cardiologist was able to clear the blockage and put two stints in.
The 47-year-old coach was resting in the Intensive Care Unit in the hospital.
