The Mississippi State Bulldogs ran into a hot pitcher on Wednesday night in Kayla Gomness and couldn't solve her.
Gomness held MSU scoreless on five hits as the Central Arkansas Bears won a 1-0 decision in softball action at Nusz Park.
It was the fifth time this season that the Bulldogs had been shut out.
"Tip your hat," State softball coach Vann Stuedeman said. "What a great game for them. You have to credit that pitcher. She did a great job. She threw a great game and kept us off balance all night. We just had a hard time putting some barrels together and when we did, I got us thrown out. That's how it goes sometimes."
