The funeral for Prince Hollingshed will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial in a public cemetery.
The Rev. Charles Brown will officiate.
Visitation will be today from 12 to 6 p.m. at West Memorial Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Hollingshed, 65, died on November 13, 2009 in Verona.

Gary W. McWhorter

Gary W. McWhorter, of Columbus, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, following a long battle with Huntington’s Disease.
He was born in Laurel on Aug. 7, 1956, the son of the late Welborn E. and Hulene McWhorter.  
Gary is survived by two daughters, Summer Pitts of and Heather Quinn and her husband, Stephen, all of Starkville; three grandchildren, Tyler Pitts, Skylar Pitts, and Kierston Quinn.  
He also leaves behind a brother, David R. McWhorter of Laurel, and a sister, Janet Shotts and her husband Terry of Hurley.  
Gary is also survived by a very special aunt and cousin, Vivian Miles and Sherry Whitehead, both of Columbus.  
The family wants to offer special thanks to Gary’s caregivers, Regina Owens, Sharon Clopton, Lartha Fulgham, Charlene Gardner and the Arrington Staff at Plantation Pointe.
Visitation will be held at the Memory Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m.  
A graveside funeral will be conducted at the Memorial Gardens Park at 1608 Oktoc Road in Starkville on Saturday at 2 pm.  
The Rev. Melvin Mordicai will be officiating.

Hardie Lee McGee Jr.

The funeral for Hardie Lee McGee Jr. will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Plair United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Plair Cemetery. The Rev. Rufus C. Harris will officiate.
Visitation will be held from noon to 6 p.m. today at West Memorial Funeral Home, which is handling the arrangements.
Mr. McGee, 85, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Oktibbeha County Hospital. An Oktibbeha County native, he was a farmer and a Methodist.

Duane Benjamin Rosenkrans Jr.
 
The funeral for Duane Benjamin Rosenkrans Jr. will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville with burial in Oktibbeha Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m.
Mr. Rosenkrans, 89, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was born on May 13, 1920, in Clemson, S.C.
He received academic degrees from Clemson University, the University of Georgia, and Mississippi State University.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving as an officer of the U.S. Navy in North Africa and Italy.
He was a journalist and communications specialist with the Agricultural Extension Service of Mississippi State University for 27 years.
A Starkville resident for 56 years, he was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and lived his last five years at The Waterford in Ridgeland.
Mr. Rosenkrans was preceded in death by his wife of almost 68 years, Mattie Powell Rosenkrans, a daughter, Sue Rosenkrans Jones of Starkville, and his parents, Katherine and Duane B. Rosenkrans, Sr., of Clemson, S.C.
He is survived by two sons, Ben (Shirley) Rosenkrans and Bob Rosenkrans, both of West Point; a daughter, Kay (Early) Ewing of Madison; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Burke Campbell Murphy Sr.

The funeral for Burke Campbell Murphy Sr. will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at Laird Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Murphy, 85, died on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Natchez Community Hospital. He was born Feb. 27, 1924 in Indianola, the son of Meredith Quincy and Mary Katie Wrenn Murphy.
He retired from the Agronomy Department at Mississippi State University in 1976 and operated Farm and Livestock Supply, Inc. in Canton and Cartage until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lou Case Murphy of Fayette; two sons, Bucky (Alice) Murphy of Canton, Bill (Debbie) Murphy of Starkville; daughter, Dee (Leon) Bullen of Fayette; twelve grandchildren, Camp (Sydney) Murphy of Flowood, Bo (Emily) Murphy of Brandon, Dees Murphy of Starkville, Andrew (Jennifer) Murphy of Southaven, Philip (Corrie) Murphy, Meredith  (Vic) Horn of Alpine, Texas, Emily (Jack) Redwood of Starkville, Mary Beth Murphy of Starkville, Mary Elizabeth (Nate) Naugle of Powell, Tenn., Terry (Angie) Bullen of Jessup, Md., Hannah (Michael) Williams of Tupelo, Joseph (Kayla) Bullen of Natchez and twelve great-granchildren.
Pallbearers will be Camp Williams, Bo Murphy, Andrew Murphy, Philip Murphy, Joseph Bullen and Michael Williams.

Martha Eufaula McGee

The funeral for Martha Eufaula McGee will be today at 11 a.m. at Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ackerman with burial in Enon Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Lawson will officiate.
Visitation will be today from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Mrs. McGee, 81, died on November 13, 2009 at Atwood Personal Care Home in Kosciusko. She was a Mary Kay national sales director.
