Starkville police have arrested a suspect in a vehicle theft, a Sunday night hotel robbery, and several vehicle burglaries: a 14-year-old boy.
Officers spotted a vehicle Monday which had been reported stolen, according to a news release from Caryl Pritchard of the Starkville Police Department.
“As officers surrounded the area, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from police,” she said.
The boy, a Starkville resident, was arrested nearby on auto theft charges.
On “further investigation,” police determined the boy was responsible for a “snatch and grab” cash-register robbery the previous night at Comfort Suites, 801 Russell St., according to the news release. He's also a suspect in several auto burglaries in that immediate area.
“The juvenile was turned over to Youth Court and they have taken action in this case,” Pritchard said. Due to his age, the boy's identity is not being released.
