Chargers defeat Wolverines 63-52 to capture boys title at East Webster

Despite being on the road, Choctaw County coach Gary Beals said the environment of the East Webster Tournament was a true impact in his team's 63-52 championship claiming victory.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have found the road unkind the last few seasons.
MSU has lost 19-straight true road games, including two this season. The Bulldogs get a chance to end that streak today as they play the Florida Gators in Gainesville. Tip is set for 6 p.m. on Fox Sports South.

Starkville Academy drops overtime soccer decision to MRA

The Starkville Academy boys soccer team didn't quit fighting during Friday's match against Madison-Ridgeland Academy even as the temperatures dropped in overtime.
Even though MRA scored in the second 10 minutes of overtime to take a 2-1 victory at the Starkville Sportsplex, the Volunteers came away with a positive feeling about what they can do.

Choctaw County boys sharp during win over Nanih Waiya

MABEN – The Choctaw County Chargers hadn't played a game in two and a half weeks.
If they were rusty coming off the holiday break, it didn't show Thursday.
The Chargers started the first and second halves strong and went on to a 70-45 victory over the Nanih Waiya Warriors at the East Webster Wolverines Invitational.

SCS Lady Cougars win pair of games this week

The Starkville Christian School Lady Cougars started the new year off on a winning note with a pair of victories this week.
After beating Kemper Academy 42-26 on Tuesday, the Lady Cougars came back home on Thursday to top Columbus Christian School 48-42.
