Bulldog women want to keep responding well in the SEC

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have played good in some Southeastern Conference games and lost, then there are others they have not played very well and won.
That's just the way it is in SEC women's basketball.
In reaching a 4-2 conference record to this point of the season, it's been a mixed bag of ways the Bulldogs have used to get there.

Mississippi State will already have a connection to the upcoming College Football Playoff.
MSU President Dr. Mark Keenum has been appointed to the College Football Playoff's Board of Managers.
Keenum succeeds former Florida president Bernie Machen as the SEC's representative on the board. 

Roberts gets off to a good start as MSU men's tennis coach

Mississippi State has seen some success on the tennis court over the last few years. 
After not being in the NCAA Tournament from 2006-10, the Bulldogs have been there four times in the last four years.

Mississippi State has struggled on the road, but in their last opportunity away from Starkville, the Bulldogs put up a fight.
MSU lost 74-70 at Texas A&M last Wednesday and had a halftime lead.
The Bulldogs also had chances down the stretch to win the ballgame.

The show of appreciation can either encourage someone to continue a progression in a positive way, or it can give a false sense of where you stand.
It has been a pretty nice four days for Mississippi State men's basketball coach Rick Ray and his program after defeating Vanderbilt 57-54 on Saturday.

SHS soccer sets up weekend with sweep at home

There may be one more match left at home for the Starkville High School soccer program.
However on Tuesday night, it was the moment for the seniors to shine.
Even though a match with Columbus was rescheduled for Saturday, the match with Caledonia on Tuesday was designated as senior night.

SCS girls see rally fall short

The Starkville Christian School Lady Cougars found themselves in too deep of a hole to battle out of on Tuesday night.
After falling behind by 18 points in the third quarter, the Lady Cougars did fight back to within five points within the last minute of their game against the Jackson Victors, but couldn't come all of the way back and lost a 55-46 decision at the Cougar Cave.

Starkville Academy girls defeat Magnolia Heights

SENATOBIA – The Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers rallied from a halftime deficit with a strong fourth quarter to pick up a 51-42 road win at Magnolia Heights School Tuesday night.
After trailing 13-11 at the end of one quarter and 24-19 at halftime, the Lady Vols were down 35-28 after three quarters before outscoring their hosts 23-7 in the fourth quarter.

SHS hands McComb first loss

CLINTON – The Starkville High School Yellowjackets pulled off what was probably the biggest surprise at the Rumble in the South Tournament on Monday in beating previously unbeaten and defending Class 4A State champion McComb 59-53.
The event was played on the campus of Mississippi College.
