It took the Lady Vols one quarter to get comfortable to the intensity level the Lady Bobcats played with.

"I felt like early we both got into the game and they made a run on us," SA head coach Glenn Schmidt said. "We fouled them like crazy. We couldn't catch Trista Magee. She is a pretty good player for them so we fouled her. It took us a minute to adjust."

The Lady Vols took a 14-12 lead into the second quarter. They made sure going into the locker room that it wasn't going to be that close.

The Lady Jackets, who improved to 9-7 overall and 1-2 in the division, gave head coach Kristie Williams exactly what she wanted to start the game.

"We wanted to start out with a great amount of intensity because it was a district game and we hadn't won one yet," Williams said. "We knew we had to go out and play tough against Yazoo because we didn't want to fall 0-3 in the district."
