Smith to join State men's basketball coach staff

Former Clemson standout Tanner Smith will join the Mississippi State men's basketball coaching staff as a graduate assistant a team spokesperson confirmed on Monday.
Smith played under Bulldog head coach Rick Ray during his senior year from 2011-12 at Clemson. 
In two professional seasons in Europe, Smith earned All-Star honors in 2013 in the Landsteade Basketball league in the Netherlands. 

Ragin' Cajuns pound Bulldogs

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns have one of the best offenses in the country this season.
The Ragin' Cajuns were batting .317 as a team entering the Lafayette Regional this weekend.
Mississippi State saw first hand how good that offense is.
The No. 1 seed Cajuns pounded out 18 hits on their way to a 14-8 win over the No. 2 Bulldogs Sunday night to stay alive.

Mitchell's outing brief for Bulldogs in loss to Cajuns

LAFAYETTE, La. – Ross Mitchell has had his few shares of struggles this season, but he has lasted at least 4 1/3 innings.
He didn't get that far Sunday night.
The Mississippi State left hander tossed just three innings in a 14-8 loss to Louisiana-Lafayette in the Lafayette Regional.
Mitchell went 4 1/3 against Texas A&M earlier in the season. 

Choctaw County preparing for second year

The Chargers ended the season with a spot in the Class 3A playoffs and saw a couple players take their talents to the collegiate level. Now it is time for the second year and coach Adam Dillinger expects the growth and success to keep coming.

Familiar territory for MSU: Bulldogs defeat Tigers to reach regional finals

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Mississippi State Bulldogs have found themselves in familiar territory.
MSU will be playing for its third regional championship in the last four years under head coach John Cohen.
The Bulldogs have made it to the championship round with a 3-1 win over in-state foe Jackson State Saturday night in the Lafayette (La.) Regional at M.L. Tigue Moore Field.

Bullpen big for Bulldogs in regional

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Mississippi State Bulldogs have been known for their bullpen the last few years.
The Bulldogs have shown why they have been so dominant at the Lafayette (La.) Regional.
The MSU bullpen has allowed just one base runner in 9 1/3 innings worked this weekend in a 5-2 win over San Diego State and a 3-1 victory over Jackson State on Saturday.

April Sykes won't be going through the motions when it comes to teaching the game of basketball to Starkville's youth.
The time of the camp each day will be from 8 a.m.-11 a.m.
The former East Oktibbeha High School and Rutgers player will host the LBGS Basketball Day Camp on June 9-12 inside the Travis Outlaw Center at the Starkville Sportsplex.

Bulldogs beat Aztecs: Two out runs give MSU win in regional opener

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Mississippi State Bulldogs couldn't score with less than two outs Friday afternoon.
They sure did the trick when there were two outs.
The No. 21 Bulldogs scored all five runs with two outs as they beat San Diego State 5-2 in the first game of the Lafayette (La.) Regional at M.L. Tigue Moore Field.
