Jackson State's Tillery provides Starkville flavor to regional field

Starkville will be represented by more than just the Mississippi State Bulldogs at the Louisiana-Lafayette Regional this weekend.
Joining the Bulldogs will be former Starkville High School player Charles "Chuck" Tillery of the Jackson State Tigers.

Cohen raises bar at MSU: Making NCAA Tournament not enough anymore for Bulldogs

The going was tough for John Cohen in his first two seasons as the Mississippi State head baseball coach.
The Bulldogs won just 48 games during those two seasons and didn't finish above .500. They also missed out on the NCAA Tournament. 
Since then, Cohen has led MSU to four-straight NCAA Tournament appearances, but getting there is not the ultimate goal anymore. 

Lafayette Regional may be tough ticket for Mississippi State

Seating at this weekend's Lafayette (La.) Regional may be tough to find for Mississippi State fans.
The capacity at Louisiana-Lafayette's M.L Tigue Moore Field stands at just 3,755. The Lafayette ticket office offered regional ticket booklets to all games in the regional for ULL season ticket holders.

Mitchell has good record on, off field for Bulldogs

Left-handed pitcher Ross Mitchell has a pretty good record for the Mississippi State Bulldogs and it doesn't all have to do with baseball.
Mitchell was selected to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team last week as the league recognizes those players who give back to the communities.

Young Wolverines make strides during season

MABEN – Baseball season was not about the big names at East Webster.
Instead coach Wes Johnson said it was all about the teamwork and the fight that existed inside his Wolverine athletes.
“We don’t have any superstars, but we got a bunch of scrappy players that are really learning the game and are really figuring out what to do to win baseball games,” Johnson said.

Jacksonville to host 2016 SEC Tournament, MSU to participate in 2014 Preseason WNIT

Mississippi State women's basketball coach Vic Schaefer has tournament basketball on his mind.
On Wednesday, the Southeastern Conference announced that the site for the 2016 SEC Women's Tournament will be in Jacksonville, Fla.
This will be the first time that Jacksonville and the Sunshine State have hosted a SEC Women's Tournament.

Gavin Collins was splitting time with Zack Randolph at catcher when the season started for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
He took hold of the job midway through the season for the Bulldogs and never looked back.

State's Pirtle confident in his defense

Mississippi State has always been able to count on second baseman Brett Pirtle to make the routine plays.
At times, he can also be quite spectacular on defense.
When it comes to patrolling the infield for the Bulldogs, Pirtle said he goes over what may happen in his mind before it occurs.

One will have to forgive the top team in the country and No. 6 national seed for the NCAA Baseball Tournament if it's not totally thrilled with the pairings sent its way.
The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns gave a half-hearted clap when they saw that the Mississippi State Bulldogs were going to be coming to town and be a part of their regional.
