March 16, 2015

It has been a tall mountain to climb for coach Rick Ray.
Ray took over the Mississippi State program on April 1, 2012. His first year ended with a 10-22 overall record and a 4-14 mark in Southeastern Conference play. The second year saw a better overall record at 14-19, but MSU finished 3-15 in league play. Both times it won a game in the SEC Tournament.

It wasn't the greatest of weeks for the Mississippi State football program off the field.

March 15, 2015

EUPORA – It's a veteran ball club.
That might be the best way to describe Eupora Eagles baseball this season because not one starter off the Class 2A State runner-up team departed.
Benefitting from all of that experience is first year head coach Michael Knight.

JACKET PROUD: SHS proves doubters wrong to get 6A crown

March 15, 2015

JACKSON – Once, twice, three times the victor.
Four times this season, the Starkville and Madison Central boys met on the hardwood with the Jackets claiming three of those contests, but it was the final matchup that mattered most.

EDWARDS ON PREPS: Belief of the players key in Starkville's playoff run

March 15, 2015

Back in November most would have not faulted Starkville for not making any postseason runs.
This was after all a team that had lost nine players, seven of which were the majority of its impact players and was left with a roster full of inexperience.
Even coach Greg Carter, who knew there was talent on the roster, was still somewhat unsure of this team's potential.

March 15, 2015

JACKSON – Storybook fashion.
A better finish could not have been written for the 2015 East Webster basketball season.
In a year that saw the passing of coach Stan Hughey midway through as well as postseason games featuring 41 turnovers, a boys basketball and a third period with absolutely no points, the Lady Wolverines never gave up.
