Bulldog coach voices praise on SEC West

Not many people will argue against the Southeastern Conference Western Division being the toughest division in college football.
Early in the season, many of the seven teams in the division were ranked at one time. There are only four teams ranked now, but the other three all received votes in the Associated Press poll this week. All seven teams are bowl eligible.

The Starkville Yellowjackets remain undefeated on the football field this season at 13-0.
It's hard to keep an unbeaten record, but it's something that many of the Jackets more than likely did at an earlier age.
Two youth tackle teams of the Starkville Cowboys program just finished up the season undefeated and winning state championships.

Dak Prescott was on his way to winning the Heisman Trophy a little over a month ago.
The Mississippi State quarterback was one of the favorites and was putting up some impressive numbers, then he had a rough stretch of five games between Auburn and Alabama. He threw eight interceptions in that span and the Bulldogs ended up losing to the Crimson Tide.

Egg Bowl rivalry big deal in state

The Egg Bowl, which pits Mississippi State against Ole Miss in football, will be battled for the 111th time Saturday afternoon in Oxford. The first time the Golden Egg Trophy was awarded was in 1927.
