Bulldogs seek to end season on high note

Mississippi State football was taken to new heights this season.
For the first time in the 115-year history of the program, the Bulldogs climbed to the No. 1 spot in both the major polls – the Associated Press and Amway Coaches. The Bulldogs were also No. 1 in the inaugural College Football Playoff poll.

Holidays in Starkville have included hoops over the last four years.
Once again, Starkville High School is hosting the Travis Outlaw Slam Dunk at the Hump and the last game of the first day turned out to be the best.
The Yellowjackets and Southwind took the situation to double overtime before the the Jaguars claimed a 75-72 win.

SHS girls continue learning process during Friday loss

Whether it be a win or a loss, the Lady Jackets are finding out how better to manage the games they are in.

Eupora's girls secure victory to open Slam Dunk at Hump

It wasn't the usual scoring game for the Eupora Lady Eagles to open the Travis Outlaw Slam Dunk at the Hump Christmas Tournament.
Even though 33 points is much lower than the Lady Eagles are used to scoring, it was enough on Friday as they defeated the New Hope Lady Trojans 33-31.

Aberdeen boys edge Memphis Catholic

There were another set of Bulldogs taking the Humphrey Coliseum court on Friday.
The Aberdeen Bulldogs knocked off the Chargers from Memphis Catholic 46-44 in early Travis Outlaw Slam Dunk at the Hump play.

MSU secondary must be disciplined against Georgia Tech

It's no surprise that Georgia Tech's passing game is not on par with Mississippi State's.
The Yellow Jackets run a triple option style offense and the running game is the bread and butter. Georgia Tech has rushed for 4,337 yards this season, but have only thrown for 1,757 yards – 135.2 yards per game.

Wilson comes long way since arriving at MSU

De'Runnya Wilson has come a long way since stepping on the Mississippi State campus in the summer of 2013.
The Bulldog sophomore wide receiver played very little high school football, but he caught the eye of MSU head coach Dan Mullen and his coaching staff during that one year and they decided to offer him a scholarship.

Former East Oktibbeha High School basketball player April Sykes hasn't given up on her dream of a return to the Women's National Basketball Association.
It's just taking a longer path to get back there.
After a brief stint with a professional league in Israel, Sykes has taken her talents to an organization in Chemnitz, Germany.

The Starkville Yellowjackets only had quarterback Brady Davis for one season.
What a season it turned out to be.
