Turnovers, Chargers stop Tornado wind 42-14

ACKERMAN – Philadelphia arrived in Ackerman undefeated and as the No. 1 team in Class 3A. When the team departed, a different tale was told as six Tornado turnovers and six touchdowns from Jamarcus Bradley led the way for a convincing Choctaw County 42-14 victory.

Jackets compete at Class II State swim meet

So many people believe that and today as the Starkville High School swim teams compete in the Class II State Championship meet, the Yellowjackets will be counting on just that.
"This is an all experience team," Starkville coach Angela Hobart said. "We have seven seniors. These guys have been swimming for a long time and we are looking for big things."

There is one thing that East Webster softball coach Lee Berryhill knows the Mississippi Association of Coaches All-State Slow Pitch Games will get from Kendall Wilkinson and Autumn Frost today.
When Wilkinson and Frost take the field for the A-2A-3A game at 1 p.m., they will provide leadership qualities for the South team.

MSU drops four-set volleyball decision to Auburn

The Mississippi State Bulldogs found a little bit of momentum coming after the second-set break, but it was not enough to get a win over the Auburn Tigers Friday night.
After winning the first two sets somewhat easily, Auburn used the cushion of that advantage by defeating MSU 3-1 at Newell-Grissom Building.

SSD OKs contract, talks consolidation

The Starkville School District Board of Trustees accepted a $562,000 construction bid and spent close to two hours in executive session discussing a personnel matter and pending litigation involving the consolidation of SSD and Oktibbeha County School District at a called meeting Thursday at the Greensboro Center.
