Mary Hellen Massey Delivorias, 72, passed away on April 12, 2015 at her residence in Starkville, MS.  She was an honor graduate of Philadelphia High School and a former Miss Neshoba County, Miss Philadelpia and Miss Hospitality.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Mississippi State College for Women.  While at MSCW, she was a member of the MSCW modeling squad and historian

Confident group: Despite losses, MSU feels good about linebacker unit

There is no lack of confidence for the Mississippi State linebackers this spring.
The group lost several players from last year's core, but they return several players who made significant contributions and they add a few young players with a good bit of talent.
Expectations are high among the Bulldog linebackers.

Former Mississippi State University defensive back Jamerson Love was one of two people Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department arrested in a last Thursday evening domestic violence incident.
OCSD Chief Deputy Chadd Garnett said deputies responded at 6:02 p.m. Thursday to a call at 79 Inverness Road.

Bulldogs pick up pace toward end of season

It may have been a slow start of the season for the Mississippi State Bulldogs on the tennis court.
Things have certainly picked up at the end.
The Bulldogs won several key Southeastern Conference matches down the stretch, including an upset over Georgia at home, and clinched the No. 3 seed in the league.

Fire destroys home South of Starkville

A fire early Sunday morning destroyed a home in Southern Oktibbeha County.
At 3:25 a.m., Central and District 5 Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at 119 Andrew Road. Although the fire was large, it was put out rather quickly, county fire services coordinator Kirk Rosenhan said.

Bemis leaves his mark as Refuge volunteer-in-residence

Robert Bemis will be ending his stint as volunteer-in-residence at the Noxubee Wildlife Refuge in the coming weeks, but the work completed during his time there will be visible long past his departure.

Mississippi State fans knew who was going to line up at safety last season for the Bulldogs.
Jay Hughes, Justin Cox and Kendrick Market did a good job of anchoring the two safety positions, but two of those players are gone and one suffered an injury late in the season keeping him out for an undetermined amount of time.

Three seniors take care of business for SHS

Change has been the trend for a trio of seniors at Starkville High.
After seeing multiple coaches who each brought a new game plan, it would have been easy for Colbey Rivers, Jared Ousley and Tyler Barnes to go with the flow.
