County, city take MBK Challenge

Oktibbeha County began answering a call to action with the initial meeting for the Oktibbeha-Starkville My Brother’s Keeper Challenge.
United States President Barack Obama launched the My Brother’s Keeper initiative in February to ensure that all youth have chances to improve their life outcomes and overcome barriers to success.

George Henry Patterson went to join his wife in Heaven on December 3, 2014.
He was the son of the late Rose Lee and John Henry Patterson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Edna.

The experience of the Washington School Generals having played multiple soccer matches this season showed against Starkville Academy on Monday afternoon.
It was the season opener for the Volunteers, while Washington School had already played five times. In their sixth match, the Generals won a 1-0 decision.

Bulldogs headed for postseason in Miami for first time since 1941

Mississippi State will be heading to South Florida for postseason football action for the first time since 1941.
The Bulldogs jumped ahead of Michigan State in the final College Football Playoff rankings to put them in the Capital One Orange Bowl against Georgia Tech on New Year’s Eve.
