Dr. Henry Pitre, Jr. passed away into the arms of our heavenly Father on Sunday, July 13, 2014 in Ocean Springs, MS. Born on October 23, 1937 in Opelousas, LA, he was predeceased by his parents, Henry Nole and Lessie Lavergne Pitre; and, his sister, Diana Pitre Savoy.
The Starkville 10-year-old All-Stars achieved quite an accomplishment earlier this month when they won the Dizzy Dean South State championship in Eupora.
Starkville goes for an even bigger prize beginning Saturday when it participates in the World Series that continues through July 31 in Southaven.
