It was a successful return of head coach Lauren Love following the birth of her first child as the Starkville Lady Yellowjackets volleyball team defeated the Aberdeen Lady Bulldogs in straight sets Tuesday night.
With the victory, Starkville improved its record to 3-3.
The Starkville Academy Lady Volunteer softball team found a lead early, but were unable to hold onto it.

EUPORA â€“ It has been quite a busy month for Kaley Harris, the new softball coach at Eupora High School.
That's how long Harris has been on the job at the Webster County school, taking over for Trae Embry, and one of her first tasks was managing the preseason Eupora Classic on Saturday.
Harris was running from field to field and making sure the tournament was on schedule.
It's been almost a year since a knee injury ended the football season early for David Fair.
The talented defensive player for the Yellowjackets tore ligaments in his knee during the Tupelo game last Sept. 2, had surgery and went through rehabilitation.
MABEN â€“ East Webster head coach Doug Wilson wanted to give a lot of younger guys some experience Friday night.
In the process, his Wolverines beat the West Oktibbeha Timberwolves 7-6 at the West Oktibbeha High School football field.
