The big innings appeared to be the theme on Thursday as the United States Speciality Sports Association 11-Under State Tournament got underway at the Starkville Sportsplex.
The Mississippi Bash used a five-run fourth inning for insurance in their game as they earned a 10-2 victory against the Golden Spikes 11-U Navy in the Class A division.
OMAHA, Neb. â€“ Thomas Edison and Chad Girodo have something in common according to Mississippi State pitching coach Butch Thompson.
Edison, a 19th century inventor, and Girodo, a left-handed pitcher for the Bulldogs, both overcome obstacles to until success knocked on their doors.
