Ray apologizes, moves on: MSU coach sorry about interaction with Ole Miss' Henderson

Mississippi State head coach Rick Ray will not be disciplined by the Southeastern Conference for his actions towards Ole Miss’ Marshall Henderson, the league announced Monday.
Ray spoke with SEC commissioner Mike Slive on Monday about the manner. Slive was pleased with the way Ray handled the matter, as he apologized Sunday via social media.

Schaefer likes effort from Bulldog guards

Mississippi State women's basketball coach Vic Schaefer liked what he saw on Sunday from his guard position.
It was mainly due to the toughness that led to the Bulldogs taking seven charges during a 69-62 victory over the Missouri Tigers.
That's the type of defensive play that Schaefer has been wanting to be more of a consistent pattern for MSU moving forward.

Size and speed were the story on Monday as Madison Ridgeland Academy picked up a 2-0 victory over Starkville Academy.
“They were really moving the ball well,” Volunteers coach Cole Andrews said. “We were doing well to keep the attack away from our net, but the two times they did put them in, we were too loose and allowed just enough time for them to settle the ball and take a shot.”
