Nemeth relishes new role in 28th year with MSU

Mike Nemeth has spent most of his career working with media relations and marketing at Mississippi State, but he has accepted a new challenge this summer.
Nemeth was promoted to senior associate athletic director of administration at Mississippi State earlier this summer.
He was serving as senior associate athletic director for media and marketing.

Frazier signs contract with Pittsburgh Pirates

Mississippi State's Adam Frazier put his name on the map this season with one of the best hitting performances in school history.
The junior shortstop broke the single-season school record for hits and led the NCAA with 107 hits.
Frazier was drafted in the sixth round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in June's First-Year Player draft.

Building a tradition: Schmidt likes direction of Vols

Last season was a banner year for Starkville Academy athletics and athletic director Glenn Schmidt intends to continue that standard right into the next school year.
“As a whole, I think our whole program was outstanding,” Schmidt said. “I just feel we are going to keep rolling so to speak, let the tradition roll into next year and give us a boost to some of the things we want to do.”

Dizzy Dean 8 State comes to Starkville

McKee Park will be busy with baseball action this weekend.
Beginning Friday afternoon, the park will play host to the Dizzy Dean 8-year-old State Tournament, which features 17 teams from across the state. Two of those teams will be from right here in Starkville.

I've had some time the last few days to sit down and collect my thoughts on what just transpired with the Mississippi State baseball team.
The run the Bulldogs made was incredible. 
I am less than half a year into the Mississippi State beat, and I never imagined I would be covering a national championship this soon.

MSU's Pollorena signs deal with the Rangers

Luis Pollorena became a crowd favorite at Dudy Noble Field in his three seasons with the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
The MSU senior left hander will take his personality with him to the next level.
The Laredo, Texas native was taken in the 23rd round by the Texas Rangers in last month's First-Year Player draft.

Mississippi State is about four months away from the start of the basketball season.
That hasn't stopped the Bulldogs from working out.
This summer has been full of drills for the players in preparation for the 2013-14 hoops season.

Little conducts camp before leaving home

Before Anna Lea Little leaves Starkville to attend Arkansas Tech to continue her education and basketball career, she had a little unfinished business at the Sportsplex.
The former Starkville Academy basketball player has been working the ALL (Anna Lea Little) Fun Basketball Camp the last two days.
On Tuesday, Little was able to introduce the campers to Lady Volunteer head coach Glenn Schmidt.

Mississippi State players have racked a good bit of recognition and awards this season.
On Monday, Bulldog head coach John Cohen got to share in that experience.
The fifth-year MSU skipper was selected as a finalist for the CollegeBaseballInsider.com 2013 National Coach of the Year Award.
