The Bulldogs routed the University of New Orleans 97-46 Thursday evening inside Humphrey Coliseum.

Borchert gives Bulldogs boost during home win

Colin Borchert got the best of a former teammate on Thursday night.

The Mississippi State forward and New Orleans guard Tradarrius McPhearson are transfers from East Mississippi Community College and they opposed each other on the basketball court.

Borchert scored a career-high 17 points to help MSU to a 97-46 victory over the Privateers at Humphrey Coliseum.

Starkville Academy gets 5-0 victory at Sportsplex

There is a saying in sports that the effort of a player doesn't show up in the boxscore.

That statement may hold true in soccer more than any other athletic endeavor.

On Thursday at the Starkville Sportsplex, Starkville Academy soccer coach Robert Gardner wished the effort of Austin Miles could have been rewarded with a goal.

The process continues for the Mississippi State women's basketball team as it enters Southeastern Conference play tonight.

MSU coach Vic Schaefer would like to be further along and more prepared as the Bulldogs look to challenge the Vanderbilt Commodores on the road, but consistency remained an issue as the non-conference part of the schedule came to a close.

Wildcats pick off Dogs: MSU drops another game to ranked team

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen has not had the best of luck against ranked teams.

It didn't get much better on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs (8-5) fell 34-20 to No. 21 (Associated Press) Northwestern (10-3) in the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl at EverBank Field.

Mullen's record against ranked teams dropped to 2-17 all-time at Mississippi State.

Despite loss, Bulldogs enjoy rushing success

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Gator Bowl may not have gone in Mississippi State’s favor, but there was one bright spot in the form of the running game.

In a day where the passing game was not working, the Bulldogs looked towards Josh Robinson and LaDarius Perkins to establish an offensive surge on the ground.

MSU seniors leave with winning mark

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Taking with them a 29-22 record, the 2012 Mississippi State senior class finished as the winningest senior class in over a decade.

“We didn’t finish this thing out like we wanted to, but those seniors had a good run here at Mississippi State," Bulldogs running back LaDarius Perkins said. "Those were some great seniors that we had.”
