Joe Morrow has been competing in sanctioned powerlifting for nine years. On Saturday, July 13, he put it all on the line as he competed in the USA Powerlifting Region VI Powerlifting Championships which took place in Ridgeland.

Jackets believe tryouts can keep bowling program strong

The Yellowjackets have competed at the State Bowling championship tournament the last two years, so there is momentum in the sport moving forward.

Americans win two of three in World Series pool play

World Series action is underway in Southaven and Starkville Americans came out of the gate swinging.
In their very first appearance of Dizzy Dean World Series pool play the 8-year-old All-Stars picked up a victory as they shut out Chattanooga 16-0.

Longhorns drop 2-1 decision to Mizuno

GULF SHORES, Ala. – Longhorns Baseball lost a tough 2-1 decision on Friday to Team Mizuno Houston (Texas) of the Major league at the United States Sports Specialty 10-year-old World Series.
Mizuno Houston scored the winning run in the final inning on a balk call by the umpire.

Jackson ready for action: Offensive guard of MSU makes first team All-SEC

Gabe Jackson had a huge decision to make this offseason.
The Mississippi State senior offensive lineman thought about forgoing his last year in Starkville, and enter the National Football League draft.
The Liberty native decided to come back for one more season. Jackson was reminded on Thursday how big of a deal it was for him to come back and help out his Bulldog team.

Summer been busy for Cohen, Bulldogs

John Cohen usually uses the summer to reflect of the season just finished, recruit and help with camps.
The Mississippi State head coach is coming off his fifth year of coaching the Bulldogs, but this summer has been anything but normal for Cohen.
The Bulldogs were one of the last two teams standing in college baseball. MSU made its ninth appearance in the College World Series this June. 

Webster County pee wee football players get visit from stars

MATHISTON – A group of Webster County youngsters are spending their summers preparing for the upcoming pee wee football season.
Britt Goodin spends his days as a state trooper in Webster County, but for the past few years, he has been running a summer workout program for area pee wee athletes.

Longhorns finish WS pool play at 3-0-1

GULF SHORES, Ala. – Longhorns Baseball finished pool play at the United States Sports Specialty Association AA World Series with a 3-0-1 record after a win and a tie on Thursday.
After tying the Houston (Texas) Wranglers, a team in the Major league, 5-5, the Longhorns came back to beat the South Alabama Bruins 12-7.
