Pair of overtime victories make MSU bowl eligible

It was only a week ago at this time when Mississippi State's bowl chances were looking very bleak.
The Bulldogs had a 4-6 overall record with just two games left. The two remaining outings were Southeastern Conference tests at that. Not to mention, the quarterback situation for MSU was anybody's guess. 

Bully mascot injured in fourth quarter of Egg Bowl

An accident that took place on the sideline during the Mississippi State-Ole Miss football game Thursday night injured an individual wearing the Bulldog (Bully) mascot costume.

French Camp claims Class A South

STRINGER – One more game exists before the French Camp Panthers can hang up their cleats and it is a big one.
On Friday night, the team travelled south to face Stringer in the Class A South State championship game. At the end of four quarters, the Panthers stood on top 56-35 and with a date in the Class A State Championship next week.

Jackets ready to host Thanksgiving Classic

The Starkville High School Yellowjackets are not waiting until December to have some holiday basketball tournament fun.
Starkville is hosting a Thanksgiving Tournament today for the first time.
After getting out of town to attend other events in the past, the Jackets remain in the Beehive for their own Starkville Classic.

French Camp looks to extend season

French Camp is not ready to quit playing football just yet.
When coach Nathan Wright made the call to let the Panthers know they would have to practice during Thanksgiving break, each and every one of them showed up ready to go on Monday.

MSU plays Grand Canyon in meeting of 5-0 teams

It will be a meeting of undefeated women's basketball teams in the first round of the Gulf Coast Showdown in Naples, Fla.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs and Grand Canyon Antelopes both put 5-0 records on the line today when they meet at 5 p.m. inside Germain Area for the post-Thanksgiving matchup.
An opportunity to face an unbeaten squad is something the Bulldogs anticipate.

Battle for Golden Egg big deal for Bulldogs

No one has ever questioned how important the Egg Bowl is to Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen.
From day one, he has made a point to make his feelings known about the Magnolia State rivalry. 
On Wednesday, Mullen took it to another level for his Bulldogs.
"(The players) would rather win this game than go to a bowl game," Mullen said on Wednesday's Southeastern Conference teleconference. 

Jackets had good season, not satisfied

The Starkville Yellowjackets fell short of their goal in winning their second-straight football state championship this season.
That doesn't mean that coach Jamie Mitchell is any less proud of what his team was able to accomplish.
