It has been a long time coming, but the Mississippi State football team has a new home.
The Bulldogs officially moved into the Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex right behind the Palmeiro Center last week.Â
The complex features coaches' offices, weight room, locker room, meeting rooms and training rooms.
Vic Schaefer is not into moral victories.
When it comes to playing in the Southeastern Conference, the Mississippi State women's coach knows that playing close and not getting the job done in the end is not good enough.
Schaefer was proud that his Bulldogs played hard and found a way to lead the Florida Gators before losing a 61-55 decision Thursday night.
Team effort and leadership can go a long way to having success in athletic competition.
On Saturday, the Starkville Academy Volunteers used those areas against the Copiah Academy Colonels where after being down by 10 points, they mounted an impressive comeback to win 58-53.
Mississippi State women's basketball coach Vic Schaefer wants sophomore guard Kendra Grant to keep shooting.
He doesn't want Grant to be held to just five attempts from the field like she was against Vanderbilt or just seven tries like she had against Florida Atlantic.
For the Bulldogs to be successful, Schaefer knows that Grant must be a factor on offense.
It usually takes a strong defense to have a chance to compete in the Southeastern Conference.
For Mississippi State, there is no exception.
Mississippi State head football coach Dan Mullen has been busy this offseason with hiring assistant coaches.
"This time of the year you always have that happen," Mullen said in his Friday press conference of coaching changes. I mean, it's, I guess, the crazy season in college football. We're really excited about all the new guys coming in here."
CRAWFORD – The East Oktibbeha Lady Titans used an offensive prowess and got a successful night of basketball started off on the right note at home Friday night.
The Lady Lions scored a 70-52 victory.
“A win is a win,” East Oktibbeha girls coach Izella Brewer said. “I always tell the girls to never give up and keep playing in spite of whatever goes on around you.”
