When the opportunity arises, Covington likes to contribute to Starkville's success whenever she can.
Covington ended two of Monday's three sets against the Caledonia Lady Confederates with the winning points as the Lady Jackets swept a 3-0 victory at the Beehive.

On a sun-soaked afternoon in Starkville, the Mississippi State soccer team rolled its way to a 5-0 victory over South Alabama to finish the Bulldog Classic with a 2-0 mark.
Following the game, MSU head coach Neil Macdonald expressed his excitement for the way his team performed.Â

Mississippi State's young volleyball team stuck to the plan even when things did not go well early in its afternoon match against the University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks at the Newell-Grissom Building.
Despite losing the first set 30-28, the Bulldogs took the next three by consecutive 25-18 scores and won a 3-1 decision in the Maroon Classic.
In order for a team to achieve great things it must first learn the lessons that build character and develop toughness.
The youthful Mississippi State volleyball squad experienced one such learning moment Saturday night as it dropped the final match of the Maroon Classic 3-2 to Kennesaw State.

EUPORA – The Eupora Eagles defeated the Noxapater Tigers Friday night 37-12 to improve to 2-0 for the season in a game riddled with penalties and what was a defensive struggle early.
It wasn't the type of performance that the Starkville Academy Volunteers were looking for in their home opener at J.E. Logan Field Friday night.
Even though the Heritage Academy Patriots made it look easy in defeating the Vols 19-6, Starkville Academy coach Jeff Terrill knows it's just one game.
MADISON – The rains fell in Madison on Friday night leading to miscues for the Starkville Yellowjackets.
It helped the Madison Central Jaguars secure a 24-8 victory at home.
Starkville and Madison Central combined for 11 fumbles for the night with SHS having six, losing three.
