That is no different for high school football, and the Starkville Academy Volunteers are hoping to get off to a great start.

Starkville High School football coach Jamie Mitchell said it feels like Christmas in July for several reasons.

First and foremost, it's the opportunity to get back on the field for the 23rd year of coaching the sport he loves. The Yellowjackets begin preseason practice on Monday.
