The Starkville Yellowjackets and Tupelo Golden Wave moved up their Class 6A, Region 2 baseball game to Thursday in attempts to beat today's forecasted bad weather.
Starkville Academy's offense finally clicked in the second game of a Tuesday doubleheader against Madison-Ridgeland Academy.
The bad news for the Volunteers was the Patriots' bats were even hotter.
While all the eyes are on the pitching rotation change at Mississippi State, the nine guys in the lineup know none of that strategy matters if they can get key hits this weekend.

The level of excitement was raised to a new level for the Starkville Academy boys basketball program Thursday afternoon with the hiring of Mark Alexander as head coach.
The Starkville Academy 2011 football schedule has a different look.
Little did the Starkville Yellowjackets know that when they played Jackson Callaway in a preseason football jamboree last fall, the two teams would become division opponents in 2011.
