Saint Valentine's Day is February 14, but Valentine's can be every day of the year.
Visual artists have creative ways to express themselves when they suddenly become inspired within their hearts and souls. I felt inspired to suddenly create and design a very free-spirited and very whimsical painting on a most unlikely canvas. This time the canvas would be our big wrap-around front porch.

Iâm still mulling over the messages delivered by television advertising during the big game on Super Bowl Sunday. Seems to me television advertising is supposed to encourage us to buy things we donât need with money we donât have. I would do it merrily if I could identify which products they were pushing.Â

I was skeptical about running one of my favorite recipes in the Taste section because I wanted to keep this one to myself, but on such a special occasion, I must acknowledge this delicious dish passed on to me by my mother who celebrates a birthday today, Feb. 6.

The language of love written by William Shakespeare will be on display at Mississippi State University as Theatre MSU presents âLove Letters from Shakespeare: A Night of Music, Dance and Sonnetsâ at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14-16 on the McComas Hall main stage.

I want to take you down memory lane with my family â Daddy, Mama, Johnny and me â deep into the woods of the National Noxubee Wildlife Refuge in the early 1950s which led us to the discovery of a very special sanctuary. One of our favorite things to do as a family was to take a long Sunday afternoon hike back down to the refuge.

Deluded though I am, I fancy myself a master at concealing my imperfections to achieve the illusion that Iâve got my act together. Ha. Like people donât know I draw on my eyebrows every morning before I go out to pick up the paper.
