What started out as a mother-to-mother swap of clothing has turned into quite the consignment revolution.
A group of young Starkville mothers are holding the second Starkville Swap consignment sale Saturday, Aug. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at the old Costume Party store in Cotton Crossings.

The Olympics and all this hype about all things British is mildly amusing to me.
I visited England years ago and found the country a bit pretentious and stuffy. Now I find that I was all wrong about England which can be quite jolly after all.

Somewhere between long days of kickball and running behind the mosquito truck, my sister and I would enjoy homemade pudding pops. We would sit on our front step or under the cool of our parent’s carport with our popsicles in the plastic Tupperware molds. Our faces would be smeared with chocolate until we washed off under the water hose.

Summer may be over and her family may be going back to school, but that will not stop Krista Vowell from whipping up meals for some quality time around the dinner table.

Has the heat fried my brain, or do I see signs of fall popping up everywhere?
I always feel like shooting off fireworks to celebrate new beginnings when the calendar rolls over to August. A brand new school year is being launched this week, and I mysteriously felt the urge to buy a loose-leaf notebook.

While she might not rest her head here every night, the love and attention Lucy Arant has given to her weekend getaway spot certainly makes this house a home.
Living mostly in Ruleville with her husband Hugh, Arant said her home in Sherwood Commons has been a wonderful place to gather with family and friends.
