BOA places engineer on probation

Starkville’s Board of Aldermen voted in executive session Tuesday night to place City Engineer Edward Kemp on 6 months probation.

City Clerk Lesa Hardin announced the board’s vote after the lengthy executive session, though aldermen offered no reasons for the decision.

SPD arrests suspect in burglary

Starkville Police Department has taken a Starkville man wanted for an alleged March 22 burglary into custody.

According to an SPD press releases, 18-year-old Deangelo Dewayne Manning, who lives at 406 Hancock Circle, turned himself in to the department at 4:30 p.m.
