Nine apply for city developer - Current city planner among applicants

Nine candidates have submitted applications to become Starkville’s next Community Development Director, according to city Personnel Director Randy Boyd.

Candidates had until midnight Wednesday to submit applications. Boyd said the nine applicants included an internal candidate, three others from the Starkville/Golden Triangle area, and some from as far as out-of-state.

MSU quarter horse show begins today

The Mississippi State University American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) show kicks off today, and the Mississippi Horse Park is hoping the event is bigger and better than ever.

The AQHA show, which is in its 55th year, is the oldest of its sort in Mississippi. The show runs through Sunday in the horse park’s main arena
