Two arrested after police chase - Officers still seek third suspect

A trio of suspects led Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Starkville Police Department officers on a Wednesday night high-speed chase through Starkville that ended in a two-vehicle collision on South Montgomery Street.

Deputies arrested two suspects, 18-year-old Joshua Tutton, of Starkville, and a teenage juvenile, both on suspicion of felony fleeing law enforcement officers.

Cell phone service could improve at Davis Wade

City sales tax revenue finishes 2013 strong

December was a good month for sales tax revenue in Starkville and finished out the year as 2013’s second-highest grossing month.

City sales tax collections totaled $535,946.68 for the month of December, and grew 1.03 percent from the amount collected in December 2012. Starkville’s city restaurant tax revenue for December totaled at $119, 804.17.
