Police bust alleged burglary ring

Starkville Police Department announced on Thursday the discovery of a burglary ring it believed to be connected with a number of area burglaries.

Police arrested 19-year-old Tymario Q. Joiner and 22-year-old Deven Jones, both of Batesville, and 22-year old Cartlon Bernard Raynor of Starkville, on suspicion of residential burglary.

A smoky haze that fell over Starkville Thursday afternoon may have left residents who saw or smelled it wondering “Where’s the fire?”

Oktibbeha County Fire Services Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan said the county experienced a few grass fires thanks to dryness and a windy afternoon.
