Ward 2 Alderman Lisa Wynn's hesitant hand raise gave the Board of Aldermen the four votes it needed Tuesday evening to press on with a proposed 2.78-mil ad valorem tax increase for fiscal year 2014.
The vote will initiate a public notice and public hearing process that will culminate with the board approving a final budget in mid September, one that now will likely include the tax hike.
