Despite cooler-than-normal temperatures brought on by days of steady rain, the 2013 Starkville Community Market opened to a strong start and big crowds on Saturday morning.

Local housing market stable

Despite fears inspired by the 2007 housing market crash, real estate markets remain local, and the Starkville market in particular has remained stable, said Michelle Amos of Coldwell Banker.

Board of Supervisors to discuss county lake lease

The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors may consider leasing additional land at the Oktibbeha County Lake to John Barnett and former Mississippi State basketball coach Rick Stansbury at a meeting on Monday morning.
