The Commission on Starkville Consolidated School District Structure will host a second public hearing at 6 p.m. tonight at the Greensboro Center.
Parents for Public Schools Starkville and the Greater Starkville Development Partnership hosted a Twitter town hall meeting Wednesday evening that saw more than 52 individual contributors participate in a conversation that could have reached more than 28,000 accounts.
PPS Starkville President Michelle Jones called the town hall, which was the first the group hosted, a success.
It was all happenstance when Amy Duclos decided to get on Internet Relay Chat (IRC), a chat forum created for Microsoft Windows. She and one of her brothers were making fun of a strange screename, ssoul, on the site.

Backstage Music will call on its patrons and others in Starkville for help on Nov. 16 in an effort to gather food for local food pantries.
Allen McBroom, a partner at Backstage Music, said the store would participate in Strings for Food, a nationwide effort on the part of independent music store owners to raise food for local pantries that are hit hard during the holiday season.
