Second Chilifest event promises food, family fun

The aroma of charcoal and the grill being fired up is typical on Saturdays in The Junction at Mississippi State University, but the cooking will begin early this week. Pots will be stirred and the smell of chili will begin wafting through the air at MSU’s Ampitheater for today’s Junior Auxiliary’s fundraiser Chilifest.

Starkville Police Department is asking the public for help in searching for Joe Mitchell Gillespie.

The department described Gillespie as a 26-year-old, 6-6, 280-pound black male.

SHS to present ‘While the Lights Were Out’

Starkville High School theater opens on Friday when students take to the stage for “While the Lights were Out,” their first production of the year.

The play will start at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Starkville High School theater. Tickets are $5.
