Annual Alzheimer’s walk raises money, awareness

Community members will have the chance to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s disease as the Alzheimer’s Association hosts the third annual Golden Triangle Walk to End Alzheimer’s at 2:30 p.m. Sunday on the East Mississippi Community College Mayhew campus.

East Oktibbeha County Fire Department responded to a call from a passer-by reporting a structure fire on Oktoc Road behind Ebenezer Baptist Church at approximately 1:45 p.m. Thursday. Firefighters arrived to find an abandoned house in flames and were able to extinguish the blaze with the assistance of Bell Schoolhouse Fire Department and District 5 Fire Department.
