Mississippi State held a closed door meeting among its players and coaches immediately after dropping the series finale to Florida on Sunday.
The Bulldogs were swept by the No. 12 team in the country, giving them four losses in a row and seven in their last eight games.

Lady Wolverines cap senior night with walk-off win

MABEN – It may not have been in the script, but a dramatic walk-off win was a good way to cap senior night.
In the seventh inning with the bases loaded, Autumn Frost sent a ball deep into the gap to give East Webster Wolverines the one-run edge to defeat Smithville Seminoles 4-3 in Cumberland.

SHS blanks New Albany in baseball

NEW ALBANY – The Starkville Yellowjackets raised their record above the .500 mark for the first time this season by shutting out New Albany 5-0 on Monday.
With the victory, the Jackets improved to 13-12 this season.

For the first time, the group of athletes from the Oktibbeha County schools will join SHS on the field.
No longer are there Titans or Timberwolves, but they are all Yellowjackets.

Florida secures sweep of MSU in baseball at Dudy Noble

Mississippi State had ample opportunities to pick up a couple of wins against Florida this weekend.
The Bulldogs just didn't take advantage.
MSU tied the game at 3-3 in the fifth inning Sunday, but saw the No. 12 Gators regain the lead in the top of the sixth inning on their way to a 10-5 win and a sweep of the Bulldogs at Dudy Noble Field to end Super Bulldog Weekend.

Bulldogs drop softball slugfest at home to Volunteers

She didn't take it easy on Tennessee pitching on Sunday afternoon.
