MSU pair eye national titles in track

A pair of Mississippi State track athletes will have a chance to win national titles this week.
Brandon McBride and Cornelia Griesche compete today at the NCAA Championship in Eugene, Ore. McBride will run in the 800-meter race at 6:30 p.m., while Griesche will compete in the steeplechase event at 8:45 p.m. Both races are semifinals.

It's all about a destination.
All college sports fans have to do is bring up places like Omaha, Neb., Eugene, Ore., or wherever the NCAA Final Four happens to be held in a particular year and thoughts immediate turn to baseball, track or basketball.
As far as track and field, those athletes work and train all season for the opportunity to represent their school in Eugene.
