City issues boil order for Greenbrier

The city of Starkville has issued a precautionary boil water alert for the Greenbrier Subdivision, effective until at least Monday.
A city spokesperson said the action was necessary because the system lost pressure due to a damaged water line.

City may ban pets from cemeteries - Alderman planning to propose law change at Tuesday meeting

Even if all dogs go to heaven, one Starkville alderman would prefer they stay out of local cemeteries.

Ward 5 Alderman Scott Maynard is proposing a change to Starkville’s code of ordinances that would ban people from bringing dogs or other domesticated animals to at least city owned cemeteries — if not all cemeteries in the city limits.

SHS prepares to host first Glow Run event

On Saturday, the Starkville High School Junior Varsity and Armstrong Middle School cheerleaders will host their first Glow Run fundraiser at the campus of Starkville High School.
