Mr. J. B. Vanlandingham, 98, of Starkville, MS, passed away at his residence on Friday, June 27, 2014.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time with Welch Funeral Home in charge.

Methyl Hodges

June 30, 2014

Methyl Patterson Hodges, 88, passed away on June 30, 2014 at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS.  She taught mathematics for a total of 42 years, retiring from Starkville High School after 35 years.  She was a graduate of Wood Jr. College and  received her B.S. and M.S.

SPRD establishes all-star softball teams

Youth sports are all about keeping up with the current trends.
Starkville Parks and Recreation is no exception to that as in recent years the move to fastpitch rather than slowpitch was made in softball.
Continuing with that trend, the SPRD built upon the program this year by adding in an all-star component at the end of the season.
