SBA completes the season, focused on younger areas

Starkville Baseball Association is all about doing what it takes to make sure there is baseball offered to the area kids.
With that in mind, the league decided to change things up a bit this year in order to accommodate some of its younger players.

The Starkville Yellowjackets are getting experience on the baseball field this summer.
With six games per week between his varsity, junior varsity and junior high teams, SHS baseball coach Travis Garner has plenty of opportunities to evaluate talent.

Funeral services will be held for Mr. Robert C. (Bob) Palmer, Jr., on Monday, June 16, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel with Terrell D. Suggs officiating.
Burial will be in Union City Cemetery with McClain-Hays Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Palmer, 62, of Union, Mississippi, died Friday, June 13, 2014, at his home.

Service is Tuesday June 17, 2014 @ 2:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Starkville, MS.
Interment will be in Mt. Peiler Cemetery, Starkville, MS.
Visitation will be Monday, June 16, 2014 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Century Hairston Funeral Home in Starkville, MS

Our visit went well and it was obvious that Bradberry valued the time and relationships he established while playing football at East Mississippi Community College and Sturgis High School in Oktibbeha County.

The New York Yankees officially added the two relief pitchers from Mississippi State to their program on Saturday.
After Jonathan Holder signed with the Yankees earlier in the day, Jacob Lindgren inked a contract for $1.1 million, according to a report in the New York Post.
