Sometimes it is about the progress made or even steady improvement over the years. Those are the things which build strong athletic programs and makeup the philosophy held by the Eupora Eagles.

Former Jacket championship quarterback dies

June 13, 2014

Family, friends and coaches are mourning the death of former Starkville High School state championship quarterback Surhaven "Moody" Fair.
Fair died on Thursday from what was believed to be a heat-related illness. An official cause of death has not been released.
In 1994, Fair was a backup quarterback and played defensive back for the Yellowjackets as they won the Class 5A State championship.

A Starkville man is behind bars four years after a pair of alleged sexual battery incidents.

Starkville Police Department officers arrested 38-year-old Tyrone Spencer Wednesday on suspicion of two counts of sexual battery.
