Mississippi State will have to await its postseason fate after being bounced from the Southeastern Conference Championship earlier than expected.
The No. 17 Bulldogs (18-10) lost to No. 55 LSU 4-2 in Nashville, Tenn., on Thursday.Â
MSU now has to wait until the NCAA announces the bracket for the 2014 tournament, which will come April 29. Regional play will start on May 9.Â

She was born Ruth Evelyn Austin on January 24, 1929, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Oliver V. Austin and the late Ruth Libby Sharbrough Austin.
Missouri will always hold a special place in Mississippi State head baseball coach John Cohen's heart.
He was a graduate assistant with the Tiger baseball team from 1992-94, then was boosted to an assistant coach from 1995-97.
Cohen says he has been back one time to Columbia, Mo. He went with a couple of people in the MSU athletic department to tour the Missouri athletic facilities.
