Vols, seniors finish the home tennis schedule

The Starkville Academy tennis program saw a strong group of seniors take the court this season.
On Wednesday, the Volunteers played their final home match of the season and it was the final time for seven seniors to see action in Starkville.

Charles Hamilton , 67, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 in West Point, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2014 at Northside Christian Church, West Point, Mississippi with Reverend Orlando Richmond, officiating. 
Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, 2014; 12-6:00 p.m. at West Memorial Chapel, Starkville, Mississippi.

For Dr. Maria Perez, Tuesday morning brought a sad goodbye laced with terrible frustration and wrapped tightly in government red tape.

It was just the beginning, however, of at least two months Perez must spend in Starkville with an ocean lying between her and her husband.

ACCESS program honors first graduates at banquet

The Mississippi State University ACCESS Program celebrated its first graduates, Katherine Phillips and Livingston Harper, with an awards banquet Monday night at the Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex.

Mr. Harrison Lee Mosley

Mr. Harrison Lee Mosley, age 71, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 after a nearly four year battle with cancer. He was born October 20, 1942 in Bay County, Florida to Arvie Lee and Rosa Lee Mosley, both deceased of DeFuniak Springs, FL. Mr. Mosley had lived most of his life in Escambia and Walton County, FL but also lived in Baldwin County, AL and Clay County, MS.

PEARL – Wes Rea needed something good to happen when he stepped to the plate with two runners on and two outs in the sixth inning.
The Mississippi State junior first baseman delivered with a two-run double down the third base line to give the Bulldogs a lead. A lead they never surrendered.
